Angèle – Je compte

Angèle returns with “Je compte”, a fresh release that gives fans one more song to add to their playlists.

Self-worth runs through Angèle‘s Je compte, the French title carrying the double sense of “I count” and “I matter”. The Belgian singer builds the song around being seen.

Je compte works in the elegant French pop lane Angèle is known for, a clean arrangement giving space to a clear, intimate vocal. The writing turns on mattering and being valued, and the production stays understated, letting the quiet assertion in the words land without any heavy backing to crowd it.

Angèle has made her name on personal, often pointed songwriting that speaks to feeling and identity. A song about counting, in both senses, fits the introspective lane that defines her work.

The moment to catch is how her voice firms on the key line, a small lift that turns a quiet statement into a claim. That steadiness carries the song’s point.

It suits a reflective moment of self-assertion, a quiet hour alone. Those who follow her writing will connect with its honesty.
