Blxckie – take me back

South African rapper Blxckie includes take me back on his upcoming album YENA, scheduled for release on October 30, 2026, through Somnyama Music Entertainment and EMPIRE. The title raises a familiar idea of looking back and wanting to return to a person, place or moment that still matters.

The phrase take me back can point to regret, nostalgia or the wish to recover something that has changed with time. It might remind listeners of a past relationship, an earlier stage of life or memories that become more meaningful after moving on. That is an interpretation of the title, not a claim about the song’s actual lyrics. The wording leaves room for listeners to connect it with their own experiences.

The track is listed as part of YENA, a 15-track project that also includes titles such as “mama, it’s all good,” “mr party” and “lonely,” featuring Nigerian singer L.A.X. The album is credited to Somnyama Music Entertainment and EMPIRE, placing this release within Blxckie’s latest album rollout.

Anyone who has ever looked back on a chapter of life and wondered whether things could have turned out differently may recognise the feeling suggested by the title. With the album’s release approaching, this track is one of the entries listeners can explore as they get acquainted with the wider project.
